Juana: Ikaw na ang manguna!

This is what the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) faculty members, staff, employees, and administrators shouted out throughout the whole month of March as the College participated in the celebration of International Women’s Month this year.

With the theme, “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran,” ASCOT started its celebration with a simple kick-off ceremony during the first flag-raising ceremony for the month of March. This is also where the dance routine for this year’s celebration will be performed to the tune of the song, Juana: Ikaw na ang Manguna, which will also be performed every after the flag-raising ceremonies for the whole month of March.

This dance was also the contest piece that the College’s participating departments and units performed during the month-long celebration’s culminating activity, held at the ASCOT Ermita Hill on March 31.

Wowing the judges in their dance versions of the said song, the Engineering Department outshined other offices after winning first place, followed by the Department of Information Technology in second place, and the Department of Arts and Sciences in third place.

Aside from the aforementioned culminating activity, which is the main highlight of the celebration for this year, the College, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, also partnered with ASCOT ‘TO (Todo-Todong Balitaan, Kaalaman, at Serbisyo) to deliver a series of interviews and talks in their GAD to Know Series, tackling relevant issues and matters affecting women, for their Episodes 14-18, aired for the whole month of March.

Here is the list of the names of the guests from the College’s GAD Office, together with the topics they discussed:
