ASCOT Extension Center leads Training on Capacity Building for Farmers

Forty-five farmers, women, indigenous peoples, senior citizens, and out-of-school youth from Barangay Toytoyan, Dipaculao joined in the Training on Capacity Building for Farmers last Oct. 19 at the Barangay’s covered court. This training aimed to strengthen and empower members of the barangay.

Mr. Edward Agustin, Agricultural Technologist of the Municipal Agriculture Office of LGU-Dipaculao, was tapped to be a speaker. He discussed planning, organizing, and implementing activities of a farmer association.

An election and oath-taking of officers took place. Director Gonzales challenged the officers and members on their responsibilities in the association. Health protocols were observed before, during, and after the training to ensure the safety of everyone.

After this training, the association will have to register with accrediting agencies like the Department of Labor and Employment and the Sangguniang Bayan of Dipaculao.
