ASCOT, NVSU Sign Partnership for Research and Academic Collaboration

 

May 14, 2026 — Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) and Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the NVSU Mini Theater in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, strengthening collaboration in research, academic exchange, and institutional development.
The agreement was signed by ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes and NVSU President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. in the presence of university officials, executive committee members, and directors from NVSU’s Research, Extension, and Training offices.
The partnership covers student mobility and visiting scholar programs, joint research and publications, academic collaborations, exchange of academic resources, and scholarly engagements including trainings, conferences, seminars, and symposiums.
Dr. Reyes highlighted the importance of collaboration among institutions and emphasized the role of instructors and faculty members in advancing research and generating new knowledge.

 

“There is no competition in partnership, but there is collaboration,” Reyes said, encouraging educators to become not only transmitters of knowledge but also researchers and contributors to innovation.
NVSY President, Dr. Dumale also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting the shared direction of both universities in strengthening research, publication, and internationalization initiatives.

 

“We are singing the same tune — research centers, publications, internationalization… Ito ang lagi nating sinasabi sa kanila….This is the way to move forward,” Dumale remarked.
Dr. Dumale also shared NVSU’s support for ASCOT’s upcoming International Mushroom Congress, expressing the university’s intention to participate in and support the initiative as part of strengthening future academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.
