May be an image of 10 people, people smiling and textOctober 1, 2024 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) awarded stipends to 387 scholars under the CHED Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) and Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) during a ceremony at the ASCOT Hostel. This support is made possible by the efforts of Hon. Congressman Rommel Rico T. Angara, whose commitment to accessible education continues to create opportunities for students.
 
ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes highlighted the significance of these scholarships, stating, “Ang suportang ito ay nagbibigay ng pag-asa sa ating kabataan, hinihikayat silang ipagpatuloy ang kanilang pag-aaral at mangarap nang malaki para sa kanilang hinaharap. Taos-puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa pamahalaan at kay Congressman Angara sa pagbibigay-daan para maisakatuparan ito.”
Congressman Angara, who played a key role in securing funding for these programs, personally awarded the stipends and encouraged the students to seize the opportunities before them. “Ang pangarap natin sa ASCOT ay maging university. Uunahin natin ang mga kinakailangan upang mapabuti ang mga facilities at classrooms ng ASCOT.”
 
Also in attendance were Mayor Rhett Ronan T. Angara, Ms. Lian D. Angara, Hon. Bokal Butch Bautista, ASCOT Board of Trustee member Hon. Julius Grefalda, Atty. Nikki Nicholas, Hon. Ex-Bokal Sid Galban, Hon. Bokal Jake Galban, Hon. Kap Reynaldo Go Jr., District Engineer Andal, and Hon. Kap Abong Valenzuela.
 
***The 376 Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantees received ?7,500 each, while 11 Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) recipients received ?20,000 per semester. TDP offers financial assistance, and TES helps cover higher education costs for qualified students.
