April 25, 2024 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) Scholarship Unit in partnership with the Cash Unit distributed stipends to 330 students for the Tulong Dunong Program of Commission on Higher Education. Supported by Senator Sonny Angara, the initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Mayreen V. Amazona, representing Vice President for Academic Affairs Ma. Luz F. Cabatan. ASCOT President Renato G. Reyes delivered an inspiring message, expressing gratitude to CHED and Senator Sonny Angara for their support, emphasizing the program’s significance in aiding students, drawing from his own experiences as a scholar. “Iskolar ako ng bayan noong ako ay nagaaral, pinlano ko ang buhay ko bilang isang estudiyante. Importanteng kilalanin niyo ang inyong mga sarili at magaral ng mabuti para matupad ninyo ang inyong mga pangarap.”

Budget Officer Chrystal Fae Salazar shared valuable Financial Literacy Tips to guide students in managing their stipends wisely. Dr. Alma S. Bayudan, Director of Student Affairs and Services, expressed gratitude to CHED, Senator Sonny Angara, and the Cash Unit for their assistance in providing assistance to ASCOT students. “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa CHED and kay Senator Sonny Angara para sa programang ito. Salamat din po sa ating Cash Unit na naging katuwang namin sa pagbibigay ng stipend sa ating mga mapapalad na estudiante. Gamitin nawa ng mga beneficiaries sa tama itong kanilang assistance na kanilang nakuha.”

At the culmination of the activity, each beneficiaries received 7500 pesos. This initiative underscored ASCOT’s commitment to supporting its students’ academic pursuits and fostering financial literacy among them
