March 26, 2025 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) Office of the Student Affairs and Services conducted the “Safe Paths Ahead: Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons Awareness & Driver’s License Guide” seminar at the ASCOT College of Law Conference Hall.
On behalf of Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan, ASCOT Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ms. Malou C. Angara, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the seminar’s relevance for students who will soon be part of the labor force.
Atty. Juan Miguel E. De Leon, Chief Labor and Employment Officer of Department of Migrant Workers Region 3, discussed migration and migrant affairs, warning against illegal recruitment tactics and highlighting the E-Registration and Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) as essential steps for securing legal overseas employment.
Mr. Louie A. Molina, Branch Manager of GIL Driving Institute, led a session on the Guide to Getting Your Driver’s License, covering the application process, requirements, and responsible driving practices. He also stressed the importance of obtaining a valid driver’s license for legal and safe driving.

The seminar provided students with essential knowledge on avoiding illegal recruitment and obtaining a driver’s license.
