February 13, 2025 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) received two male carabaos from the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) during Aurora’s first-ever Carabao Festival, held in celebration of the province’s 46th Founding Anniversary.
ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes formally accepted the donation from PCC Director Dr. Ericson N. Dela Cruz, stating that the carabaos will be housed at ASCOT Bazal to support the college’s livestock development and agricultural extension programs.
The festival showcased Aurora’s deep agricultural heritage, featuring a colorful parade of carabao-drawn floats and the participation of key officials, including Governor Reynante A. Tolentino, who emphasized the carabao’s role in food security and rural livelihood.
A symbolic toast with fresh carabao’s milk capped the event, celebrating the resilience and contributions of the carabao in Philippine agriculture. With this initiative, ASCOT and PCC continue to strengthen sustainable farming in the province.
