April 7–14, 2025 – Beijing, China | Catherine A. Salazar, Instructor at Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) School of Education and PhD student at the Philippine Normal University (PNU), participated in the Thailand-China-Philippines Young Leaders Development Camp at Beijing Normal University, China.
Salazar presented her research, “Expectation vs. Reality Experiences in the Workplace Among Beginning College Instructors,” exploring the challenges and support systems faced by new educators. Her insights offer valuable recommendations for improving onboarding programs in higher education.
This marks her second international engagement, following her participation in the Thailand-Philippine Bilateral Graduate Student Research Forum at Kasetsart University in 2024.
Salazar’s involvement reflects ASCOT’s commitment to global academic conversations and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. Apart from bringing global recognition to the institution, she also stands as an inspiration to fellow faculty-researchers—proving that with dedication and vision, ASCOT educators can thrive and lead on the international stage.
