March 28, 2025 – the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) recently concluded the Level III Accreditation for its Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program.

This rigorous process, led by the accreditors from Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc., namely Dr. Ronald M. Ramirez, team leader; and Dr. May Ann C. Pulgo, team member both from Cebu Technological University. This aims to enhance the program’s quality and reflects ASCOT’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Ronald M. Ramirez, the accreditation team leader, shared his general impressions. While the official results remain under evaluation, he assured ASCOT of a fair and objective review. Dr. Ramirez also commended the Accreditation Task Force for their hard work, patience, and promptness in providing the required information and documents. He highlighted ASCOT’s dedication by saying, “Basta BSHM maasahan kahit kailan.”

ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes welcomed the team’s feedback, emphasizing the value of accreditation in identifying strengths and areas for improvement. “Ang accreditation ay tumutulong sa atin na makita kung tama ang ating ginagawa. Ipinapakita nito ang ating mga kalakasan at kahinaan, kaya’t mas napapahusay natin ang mga bagay na ginagawa natin nang maayos at naitatama ang mga dapat pang pagbutihin” he said. Dr. Reyes also expressed his gratitude to everyone involved, recognizing that their collective effort made the accreditation possible. He affirmed his full commitment to addressing any recommendations that may arise from the evaluation.

In her closing message, Dr. Ma. Luz F. Cabatan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, described accreditation as a best practice that fosters collaboration among faculty, administration, and stakeholders. She expressed optimism for a positive outcome and emphasized the importance of working together to maintain high academic standards.

This accreditation aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, as it ensures the continuous improvement of ASCOT’s academic programs. With the combined efforts of the ASCOT community, the BSHM program moves forward with confidence, ready to provide quality education and exceptional service to future hospitality leaders.
