May be an image of 1 person and textFebruary 8, 2025 – In a unified effort to support communities recovering from Typhoon Pepito, Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT), through its School of Information Technology (SoIT) and School of Engineering (SoE), extended its expertise to the residents of Sitio Bulos, Barangay Dinadiawan, Dipaculao, Aurora.
 
Recognizing the importance of connectivity in disaster recovery, SoIT, led by Dean Mayreen V. Amazona, DIT, spearheaded an internet connectivity project, providing residents with crucial access to communication and information. Meanwhile, SoE, under the leadership of Dean Engr. Alking Gorospe, PhD, ensured a stable water supply by installing a water pump (poso), addressing an essential need in the community.
 
These initiatives were carried out as part of ASCOT’s Shelter Program, a continuing commitment to community resilience and recovery. The efforts were overseen by Dr. Oscar C. Barawid Jr., Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Finance, reinforcing ASCOT’s mission to integrate technology and engineering solutions in community service.
 
By bridging digital gaps and providing essential utilities, ASCOT, SoIT, and SoE reaffirm their commitment to leveraging education and expertise for meaningful social impact.
