ASCOT Booth Among Top Exhibits at Siempre Aurora Trade Fair 2025

February 19, 2025 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) proudly earned recognition as one of the Top 5 Most Attractive and Well-Organized Exhibits in the Education category at the Siempre Aurora Trade Fair 2025. Held during the Aurora Day Pasidayaw Festival at the Aurora Provincial Capitol Grounds, the event showcased cutting-edge innovations and community-driven projects from various industries.

Spearheaded by Ms. Glenda M. Nad-Gines, Director of Extension and Rural Development, the ASCOT booth captivated visitors with its research-based products for sustainable development. The exhibit featured:

Boton Biopesticides (Showcase Only, Not for Sale) – An eco-friendly pesticide derived from Boton (Barringtonia asiatica), developed by the School of Agricultural Sciences to promote sustainable farming and reduce chemical pesticide use. This product sparked curiosity among attendees, with many inquiring about its potential applications.

Pigmented Rice (Black & Red) – Nutrient-rich rice varieties packed with anthocyanins and antioxidants, promoting healthier consumption and sustainable farming. Among all displayed products, it stood out as the top-seller, attracting strong consumer interest for its exceptional health benefits and distinct qualities.

Vermicast – A nutrient-rich organic fertilizer produced through vermicomposting, enhancing soil health and eco-friendly farming.

3D-Printed Keychains – Custom-designed souvenirs by the School of Engineering, showcasing the potential of additive manufacturing in education and small-scale production.

Kamias and Narra Seedlings – Provided by the School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences to encourage tree-planting and biodiversity conservation.

During the awarding ceremony, Siempre Aurora Trade Fair 2025 Chair Cecilia B. Marino from the Provincial Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (PLEDIPO) and ADC 2025 Overall Chairperson Reynante K. Tolentino Jr. presented the certificate of recognition to ASCOT.

Through this exhibit, ASCOT reaffirmed its commitment to agricultural innovation, engineering advancements, and environmental sustainability.
