March 5, 2025 – Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) proudly participated in the JAAP Webinar Series 2025: Exploring the Diversity and Wonders of Marine Environment, organized by the JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) in collaboration with Central Luzon State University (CLSU), with the ASCOT School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences as a key partner.
In his speech, ASCOT President Reyes stressed the urgency of marine conservation, highlighting threats like overfishing, pollution, and climate change. His message set the tone for discussions on seagrass ecosystems, marine biotechnology, and sustainability, reinforcing ASCOT’s commitment to science-driven solutions for ocean protection.
Meanwhile, ASCOT’s faculty, Mr. Marco De Guzman, MSc shared his study on Seagrasses Along the Coast of Dilasag, Aurora, exploring their role in climate change mitigation and marine biodiversity conservation.
Experts from Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines exchanged insights on marine sustainability, making this webinar a crucial platform for international collaboration.
