April 1, 2025 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) and the Philippine Association of Agriculturists, Inc. (PAA) Tamarind Chapter have formalized a partnership to enhance agricultural extension and community development. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing was led by ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes and Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, President of PAA Tamarind Chapter and University Professor at Bataan Peninsula State University.
The collaboration focuses on building faculty extensionists’ capacities, integrating modern technologies, and strengthening coordination between PAA and ASCOT. By promoting innovative agricultural practices, the partnership aims to empower professionals and foster a more sustainable and inclusive sector.
PAA Tamarind Chapter will lead training programs and provide technical support, while ASCOT will contribute resources, research expertise, and engagement with agricultural stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of these initiatives. This partnership also aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reinforcing ASCOT’s commitment to strengthening local communities and advancing agricultural education.
Also present at the signing were Dr. Ma Luz F. Cabatan, ASCOT Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Engr. Alking Gorospe, PhD, Director of the Research and Development Office.
