ASCOT Asst. Prof. Salazar Among the Country's 218 ASEAN CPAs

Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) faculty member, Asst. Prof. IV Chrystal Faye V. Salazar has officially earned the ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant (ASEAN CPA) title, a prestigious certification recognized across Southeast Asia.

This qualification allows Salazar to practice accountancy in multiple ASEAN countries, aligning with regional standards and promoting professional mobility.

Salazar’s journey began as President of PICPA Aurora in 2022, when PICPA National President Erwin Vincent Alcala encouraged her to apply. She took on the challenge, applied in June 2024, and was officially qualified by October 2024.

“I wasn’t aware I had qualified until I saw a post from a former professor who also made it to the list,” Salazar shared.

Salazar is among only 218 CPAs in the country to hold this title. She expressed gratitude to PICPA leaders and ASCOT President Renato Reyes for their guidance and encouragement.

“This certification is not just personal recognition but an opportunity to enhance my expertise and contribute further to my role and the industry,” she said.

Salazar’s achievement reinforces ASCOT’s dedication to producing professionals who excel at national and international levels, further strengthening the institution’s reputation for academic and industry excellence.
