Dr. Eusebio V. Angara, College President and Gerardo S. Rillon – Vice President for Administration , attended the AAPA 2014 Annual Conference held Feb 6-8, 2014 at the Mandarin PLaza Hotel , Cebu City, Philippines.

The two heads of the College together with CHED Commissioner, Hon. Alex B. Brilliantes, Jr., and other scholars, practitioners and members of the academe from the Philippines and abroad, gathered to discuss vital issues, problems, and trends in public administration in the event themed, ” THE STUDY AND PRACTICES OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION IN ASIA AND THE REST OF THE WORLD : TRENDS, NUANCES, AND CHALLENGES”.

The event primarily aimed to create a dialogue among scholars and practitioners of Asia public Administration and public policy to address various challenges in the field of public administration. This reviews issues that covers: the public administration disciplinary agenda – theoretical and methodological issues; public administration comparative trends and practices; public sector reforms and innovations; and public administration, public governance, and international cooperation. Selected participants also presented / submitted paper proposals focused on the conference theme.

The 3-day event will be beneficial for the college because, not only will it further improve the administrative management of the college but, it will make an impact in the instruction department, as the college also offers Master of Management major in Public Administration Course.

The conference is an annual event organized by the Asian Assoc. for Public Admin (AAPA) and the local organizing committee of the Phil Assoc. for Public Administration with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Phil Councilors League (PCL), Phil Councilors League-Legislative Academy (PCL-LA), UP – National College of Public Admin in the Phil ( UP-NCPAG), and the Assoc of Public Schools of Public Admin of the Phil (ASPAP).
